15th July 2021:

UWC Belgium has the regret to confirm that yesterday evening, July 14th, a terrible accident took place at the UWC short-course in Marcourt, Belgium. Due to severe flooding, a participant of the course fell and was taken away by the Ourthe river. Since this incident the person is missing and the authorities continue their search. All other participants, as well as the organising team, are in safety.

At this stage we are focused on supporting the family of the missing youngster, as well as the remaining participants through this ordeal. At this time we would like to ask all parties to respect the privacy of the missing person and their family.
